Posted on: 20 July 2021
The Brigitte Trust
The Brigitte Trust was established in 1984, to provide free emotional support and practical help at home to people in Surrey facing a life-threatening illness.
Their 150 volunteers increase emotional well-being and reduce loneliness and social isolation for their clients. After undergoing full DBS checks and intensive training, they provide a range of support which can include providing a listening ear to worries; sitting with a client while their carer takes a break; driving a client to hospital appointments, shopping and trips out; helping the client get their affairs in order; or providing bereavement support to the family.
Their volunteers provide a calm and gentle approach, giving invaluable support at a turbulent time.
